resources for reality

A recent emergency prompted a bit of searching on the internet. The topic is teenage suicide/suicide prevention/statistics and resources for teachers and parents. The lesson I've learned as a teacher is that sometimes it helps a student to hear how much they've scared you when they've tried to hurt themselves. Sometimes they just need to know that someone cared.

Another lesson learned is that the risk is greatest when the student is in recovery and seeming to do well; multiplied by a previous serious attempt.
